One Day At A Time

Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays.--R. W. Emerson

You are amazing Cory! What a perfect reminder that it is indeed with each "new day" that we must give thanks for the blessings of "that" day. You have only to look at the impish smile of your child or the sunshine or the smell of a recent rain to be reminded that what we have is precious and good and we must give thanks.
I love you dear Cory

Cory, that is just beautiful and simple. Sometimes it is the little reminders in life that get us to the next joy awaiting us. You are a blessing to all your family and friends.

Oh, my dearest, darling Cory how I am missing my conversations with you since you have been ill and cumbered about with worries. Your verse by Ralph Waldo Emerson is just what the doctor ordered for me. I have been worried about you and Matt and Brody. I am a worrier anyway. My Dad used to get so disgusted with me saying "You even worry that you might not have anything to worry about!" So I am going to try and let Emerson's words be an ointment for my soul. Thank you for them, Cory.

I want to be more of an optimist:

THE OPTIMIST

The optimist fell ten stories.
At each window bar
He shouted to his friends:
"All right so far."

Awesome quote Cory and something to live by. I think I shall print it up as well and put it on my desk to see each day. Loved seeing you guys yesterday. We must get together more often.

This is one of my favorite quotes. I like the finality of "be done with it". I picture myself wiping off the sadness, the disappointment, the anger, the hurt, etc with quick sharp swipes of my hands, then abruptly being "DONE" with it and walking forward. This is what we must do everyday...especially when the pain from that day is too much to carry into today. Each day is a gift that we are given...we are not guaranteed any or every day. Why not seek the possibility in it and look for the treasures that yesterday maybe we were too sad to see?
I love you Cory!
