Sooo, as I am out and about these days I can't help but notice all the little babies that surround me. I have never really noticed this time of year when all the animals around us share the love and bring more little animals into this world. I love it!
The little baby ducks following thier momma and daddy around the lake at the park, baby turtles swimmin around at the entrance of the zoo, I even loved the tiny baby lizard that I watched run across my back porch this evening.
What I AM NOT loving is the millions of baby crickets that creep up my shower drain each night to put up camp!!!! Ummm excuse me baby crickets don't you realize that I do not need any more excuses from taking a shower?????? I love babies, I love animals, I even love some insects (well maybe not so much) BUT I don't like sharing my shower with them. Especially when they come in massive numbers. I could just picture myself getting brave enough to step into the shower and then being carried off like the princess in Desperoux. Yikes!
I'm not big on killing the little guys especially since they are just babies but I sure the heck am not going to scoop each one up into a cup and toss em out into the yard so that they can crawl back up my drain. So kill them it is.... the only problem is....bug spray doesn't seem to be stopping them. They just keep coming, even though they can surely see what it has done to their brothers and sisters. Watering them back down the drain doesn't seem to be stopping them either despite crickets not being waterbugs. Soooo it's official- I will no longer be taking showers. :) Consider this a fair warning.

oh corky.....and i KNOW you are not joking, from being a witness the other day.....have you ever considered having asher come over and capture them for you?....it would take away from the "flashlight out at night hunting parties"....but he'd love it! :-)
p.s.(i'll check with dad about that situation!)...oh and you can always use our shower....hint hint. not sure how long the cricket season is!
xoxo
oh and love the changes.....in every way!

Well, it could be sewer roaches!! That would keep me completely out of the bathroom...no shower, no bath, no relief and no friends!!
this makes me laugh! :) I will take it as fair warning. :)
Have you tried plugging your drain when you're not in the shower. Maybe before you go to bed? The first house Matt lived in here had roaches coming up through the drains! :( YUCK!! At least they're little baby crickets. :)
You have NO idea how long I have been noticing this time of year. I can tell you ~ oh about 7 years. :) I think about two years ago I came in the house crying with this thought running through my head "the freakin ANTS can have millions of babies and I can't even have ONE!" :)I was so overrun by an ant problem that I felt like they were everywhere and totally rubbing their overcompetent fertileness in my face! :)
well at least you know you'll have some members in your "no shower" club.
in fact, i could be the president if you'd like.
Oh my, one persons trash is definitely another's treasure when it comes to bugs and Asher! I had to start laughing about mom's comment! Why don't you have Asher come over? He would be in HEAVEN!!! Don't even try to come over to my house miss stinky! I had to laugh at Jamie's comment too!! That is too funny about being jealous of the ants! I understand though! :) I too am enjoying this season for the first time! I guess I haven't stopped and smelled the roses too much during this time of year. This year I will as long as you aren't around! :)
ha ha - good laughs. :)
hey....who balked at the gift for papa? :-)......not me!

love your new back ground....and yes i wanna a real new baby ha!!! hope all is well
this made me laugh out loud several times!!!! so sorry for your problem. maybe you could borrow shiloh during cricket season....i keep finding remnants of crickets on my floor...cricket legs, criket heads, etc.
i love you!!!!
LOL, thats funny! Try putting a drain cover over the shower after you take one and the water drains, then they cant get in.
Cory- We had this problem in the old house until I started putting bleach down all the drains once a week.
Ohhh my! Cory you are so darn funny I completely love reading your "life as we know it"! I too have stopped and taken notice of the babies every where. I have tried several times to show Brody the baby ducks in the back yard. He seems much more interested in "where the fish are" then where the baby ducks are :) Ummmmm... about the shower situation.... eeeeeeewwwwwww... good luck with that!
Love the new look on the blog too :)
XOXOX
